[...] Our department had a good General Assembly, both in the friends we saw again, the resourcing we did at our booth, and at the Seminar and Laity and Clergy Luncheon we had on Friday. Leonard Sweet was an outstanding speaker, and my greatest regret is that, with our overcrowded General Assembly schedule, more people were not able to take in either or both of his talks (which should be available on CD shortly.) And it didn’t hurt that I got to take him to Starbucks! [...]

Don, God bless you!

You are a gold mine of a brother in Jesus!

Your posting of this Len Sweet story shook just the right cobwebs loose at just the right time, I do believe! Our church is losing its lease due to a reshuffling with the landlord, and we have this month to find new space. We are small enough not to need a standard church building, and a maybe a bit more flexible at least than the typical US Anglican assembly. I am going to suggest we target a restaurant or maybe a different one each week. What few "props" we do use (vestments, candles, etc) might be useful in attracting some friendly attention, even some added attendance! Love y'all!

Well, Don, don't be surprised if I take you up on your "dare" at the upcoming meeting. I'm looking forward to being with your tribe. And Thx! for this discerning and disciplined review of my attempt at laying out the postmodern interface. Some people have misunderstand the interface with the operating system. EPIC isn't the church's operating system (which I call MRI for Missional/Relational/Incarnational). But we need to find EPIC ways of being MRI.
Jehovah Java!
